In October we tried again in getting some companions for Buttercup - this time, two baby sister bunnies.  We were going to the 'piac', outside market, for several Saturday mornings in a row until we finally found someone selling baby bunnies.  The kids had made only one request, they wanted a gray bunny - so Tapsi Hapsi (Bugs Bunny's name in Hungarian) was chosen first.  We had only planned on getting one friend for Buttercup, but with a whole box full of bunnies destined to be dinner some day, we ended up coming home with two.  Koosie was chosen over her black brother because she was a girl, and oh so sweet.  (Koosie is short for Koos-ala-goop-a-goop, who is Dee-Dee's make-believe friend on Dexter's Laboratory on Cartoon Network!)  Below are pictures mostly from our girls' first weeks with us - they've gotten bigger and we hope to get more pictures on here soon.  Click on a thumbnail picture for it to open bigger.  Enjoy.

Our brand new baby bunnies, Koosie (brown) and Tapsi Hapsi (gray), in the box we brought them home from the market in.

As bunny introductions can be tricky, we decided to try the discovery approach - so left the box in our buildings' entry and let Buttercup 'find' them

Buttercup 'discovering' Koosie - he was VERY interested!

Buttercup 'finding' Tapsi, wow, two Bunnies just left in this box, just for me!

Buttercup was very curious about the 'bunny nursery', the box we kept the babies in at first.

We thought the small hole we cut in the side of the box would be too small for Buttercup - he proved us wrong!

Tapsi and Koosie on their first day in their new home.

On one of their first supervised exploration times in our living room - Tapsi found a toy, and Koosie is curious too.

Koosie wants Tapsi to share the new toy!

Tapsi Hapsi, which is what they call Bugs Bunny in Hungarian, on one of her first days with us, only a month or so old.

Koosie and Tapsi on their kitchen rug with a kid-reject apple for a treat. They quickly left their box and joined Buttercup in 'their' kitchen.

Joshi with Koosie and Siah with Tapsi - tilt your head to the right a bit, they were propped up on pillows, I took the picture at an angle.

Getting bigger, and closer with Buttercup, taken in early December, about four months old.

Another angle of the same shot, Koosie, Tapsi and Buttercup behind them.

Sleeping bunnies are so sweet - we love Koosie's white belly, and it's such a sign of trust that she flops on the side like this. Ahhh....

It's Christmas Time! All three bunnies loved nibbling our tree - here's Koosie and Buttercup snacking.

Koosie standing up to reach those tastier, harder to reach branches! We left the bottom third of our tree bare this year!

Tapsi under the Christmas tree.

Love the paws together! Tapsi standing up to nibble.

Tapsi is a very naughty bunny - caught 'red pawed' in our kitchen window - we've had to empty it of all temptations now!

Tapsi has also learned that we tend to leave scraps of food on the table - don't anymore, but she still checks, and sometimes gets lucky!

Our sweet bunnies all nose to nose.
